Alumnae Responsibilities
To the National Organization
- Uphold and exemplify the ideals of Alpha Sigma Tau.
- Pay national dues.
- As time permits, attend Regional Leadership Workshops, National Convention, Alumnae Panhellenic Association meetings, chapter installations, chapter recruitment functions, and collegiate extension presentations.
- Contribute articles and personal news to THE CREST and THE ANCHOR.
- Stay updated and informed of Constitutional changes, and Sorority and National Panhellenic Conference policy and procedural changes.
- Participate in one or more activities dealing with the establishment of a new colony on a university campus.
To the Alumnae Association
- Join and participate in the nearest alumnae association.
- Pay local dues.
- Welcome alumnae who are new to your association and community.
- Promptly notify National Headquarters of any address or name change.
- Promote Alpha Sigma Tau through community involvement.
- Participate in an Alumnae Panhellenic Association if there is one in your area.
- Attend alumnae association functions.
- Serve as an officer or chairman and fulfill your duties during your term.
- Support your officers.
- Help organize alumnae in your area if there is no active alumnae association.
- Submit news to the Chapter CREST Editor for THE CREST.
- Induct graduating seniors in the area into the alumnae organization.
To a Collegiate Chapter
- Provide encouragement, information, and understanding to individual collegians from a nearby chapter or to a chapter your alumnae association has chosen to adopt.
- Assist with and/or provide materials for recruitment, homecoming, philanthropic projects, and other chapter activities.
- Serve as a Chapter Adviser, Assistant Chapter Adviser, Chapter Consultant, Chapter CREST Editor, member of the Advisory or Housing Board, or in another special capacity as available.
- Offer financial assistance.
- Always support the collegiate chapter into which you were initiated, by answering correspondence, submitting name/address changes and updated news, providing financial contributions, and when possible, attending chapter functions to which alumnae are invited.
