New Members
Our New Member Program prepares members for Sisterhood by providing a basic Sorority education and defining the privileges and responsibilities of life-long membership. During the New Member Program, all new members will participate in several ritual ceremonies. These sacred rituals have been conducted for over a century by every colony and chapter of the Sorority and reaffirm the true essence of Alpha Sigma Tau Sorority.
The six-week educational program involves all collegiate members and provides new members with vital information in order to know, understand, and commit to the values, traditions and history of Alpha Sigma Tau Sorority. Each week, new members will learn information about Sorority reinforced with weekly assessments to ensure members understand the necessary material. At the end of the New Member Program, each new member is required to take and pass (earn 80% or higher) a comprehensive New Member Examination in order to be initiated.
