National Convention
Alpha Sigma Tau's 39th National Convention
June 21-24, 2012
Hyatt Regency-Indianapolis
Indianapolis, IN
Purpose of National Conventions
Alpha Sigma Tau holds national conventions, typically every two years, to conduct Sorority business, provide an opportunity for members to connect, recognize chapter and individual achievement, and provide valuable educational and leadership training for its membership.
Awards and Recognition
Each National Convention celebrates the Yellow Rose Banquet to honor annual and biennial accomplishments among individuals and chapters, collegians and alumnae. Additionally, the Sorority acknowledges the devotion of its membership by recognizing milestone anniversaries in chapter establishment, individual membership, and individual Convention attendance. One award decided during the National Convention is the Mary Charles Adams Ashby Convention Top Tau Award, presented to sisters who have enthusiastically exemplified Sorority ideals during the Convention. Typically, this award is bestowed upon one collegian and one alumna per Convention, although there have been exceptions. For example, in 2008, the alumna award was earned by both Sally Belknap of the Alpha Chapter and Kristin Walker of the Alpha Lambda Chapter.
Please see Awards and Recognition for a description of all awards.
